Third Shore Collective is a contemporary jazz/fusion quintet based in the Midwest. The group consists of French hornist William Schneider, alto saxophonist Kyle Brooks, guitarist Zakk Jones, bassist Dylan Bretz, and drummer Brad Billmaier. The ensemble formed in Bowling Green, OH but has performed extensively throughout the region, bringing a specialized blend of bebop, Americana, R&B, world music, and the avant-garde. The groups’ debut record Third Shore Collective features a mix of compositions from each of the band’s constituent members, each of them accomplished composers, educators, and performers in their own right, hailing from Lansing, Chicago, Columbus, Cleveland, and Toledo respectivel

Brad Billmaier is a Toledo, Ohio based jazz percussionist, composer, and educator. He has performed extensively throughout the Midwest, honing a style that is post-bop and “modern mainstream” oriented, while frequently incorporating funk, fusion, Americana, Afro-Cuban, and avant-garde elements.
Kyle Brooks is a rising performer and pedagogue, seasoned by and for the modern music industry. An internationally-performing saxophonist, composer and educator, Brooks spent most of his adult life working around the different corners in the midwest, having lived in Illinois, Ohio, and Indiana respectively, performing at venues across the US and Mexico. Versed in multicultural idioms, Brooks has, and continues to work with organizations that regularly present jazz, rock, hip hop, Bollywood, Malayalam, electronic and salsa music, just to name a few.
Will Schneider has performed as a sideman and as a leader across the Midwest in cities such as Chicago, Detroit and Columbus, appearing in venues and clubs including Dick’s Den, Ginger Rabbit, Elastic Arts, Fulton Street Collective, Lucille’s Jazz Lounge, the 35th annual Elkhart Jazz Festival. Besides working in his own self-titled project, Will is a founder and member of Third Shore Collective, a group dedicated to blurring the lines of musical genres writing and performing works designed for improvisers.
Zakk Jones is an Ohio based guitarist, bandleader, composer, and educator. In 2022 he received his Master of Music degree in Jazz Studies from Bowling Green State University, and holds a B.M. in Jazz Studies from Capital University. He is currently an adjunct professor and head of guitar studies in the Conservatory of Music at Capital University, where he directs the big band, guitar ensembles, and teaches applied lessons. In addition, he is the guitar area coordinator at Truman State University. Since his emergence in the Midwest scene, he has played and toured all over the country and world at such venues as the Amsterdam Blue Note, Bar Next Door (NYC), Bop Stop (CLE), Cliff Bell’s (Detroit), the Troubadour (LA), Bluebird Theatre (Denver), the Newport (Columbus) and many more. He can be seen frequently with Doc Robinson, the Tony Monaco Trio, Hoodoo Soul Band, Third Shore Collective, and the Zakk Jones Trio. In addition, he has played with The Coasters, The Midtown Men, Lou Marini Jr, Ryan Keberle, Jaleel Shaw, Dwight Adams, and Bobby Floyd. In mid-2019 he released his debut trio record “Mise-en-scène”, produced and mixed by Grammy-winning professionals Jeff Ciampa and Rob Griffin, known for their long-standing work with Wayne Shorter. As an educator, Zakk has previously been on faculty at Mt. Vernon Nazarene University, Bowling Green State University, and hosts online masterclasses for students from around the world. Outside of his busy gigging and teaching schedule, Zakk is an avid composer/arranger, writes educational articles for JazzGuitarToday.com and hosts the podcast "Beyond The Frets".
Andy Peck studied bass at New England Conservatory with John Lockwood, Cecil McBee and Donald Palma. Later on he was a grad student at University of Michigan under Prof. Robert Hurst, and studied briefly with John Hébert while the latter was on faculty at Western Michigan University. He has played or recorded with Eddie Daniels, Donnie McCaslin, Brian Lynch, Andrew Bishop, Jean-Yves Jung, Brad Phillips, Jiggs Whigham and others. From 2018 to 2020, Peck was instructor of bass, improvisation and ensembles at the Jazz And Creative Institute in Kalamazoo and is currently bassist for Ypsilanti rock unit Cracked and Hooked.
