This home grown quintet features a tribute to Miles Davis. Miles Davis is arguably the most important contributing figure to the history of jazz. Raised in East St. Louis, and attending Julliard to study music - he went on to build one of the most impressive musical resumes by playing in and leading groups with Charlie Parker, Dizzy Gillespie, Sonny Rollins, John Coltrane, Cannonball Adderley, Thelonious Monk, Horace Silver, and Herbie Hancock to name a few (and this only scratches the surface!). Known for his "cool" tone and thought-provoking solos that mesh rhythm, melody, space, and harmony all together to form a musical masterpiece. We hope you enjoy our selections from the 1st great and 2nd great quintet era of Miles' career in this tribute to Miles Davis.
