This home grown quintet features a tribute to Horace Silver. Horace Silver is an extremely important and influential figure in the history of jazz. He is often credited as being a pioneer of the hardbop language. Horace Silver started his musical career as a tenor saxophonist and transitioned to piano - he was eventually picked up in Hartford, CT as Stan Getz's pianist and his career flourished from there. Known for starting the Jazz Messengers with Art Blakey, normalizing the instrumentation commonly seen with modern quintets (trumpet, tenor saxophone, rhythm section), and for his infectiously groovy melodies/compositions — We hope you enjoy our tribute to Horace Silver.
Maximilian Wilfinger - cornet/trumpet
Todd Neuenschwander - tenor saxophone
Stefan Hess - piano
Edward Prikopa - bass
