As part of our Student Jazz Performance Series, Lushh is comprised of Western Michigan students working on independent projects and recordings, and are touring in celebration of their recent album release. Lushh, described as "electronic chamber jazz," and improvisation, has been named a finalist for the Under 25 Students’ Category of the International 7 Virtual Jazz Club 2018 Jury Prize. On-the-spot creation are vital to what they do. Their last large project was a 4-movement electronic chamber work with live painting, a wind quartet, and singer, with the music and poetry all based on sleep cycles and dreams. For two years in a row, Lushh was named Best Group in the Blues/Pop/Rock category of Downbeat Magazine’s Student Awards (2017/2018). Guitarist, Andrew Saliba, won the 2016 Best Soloist in the Blues/Pop/Rock category on our recording of Great Fairy’s Fountain Theme.

Lushh frequently performs around the Midwest, particularly in Michigan, collaborating with various musicians and artists. In addition to performing, Lushh teaches masterclasses at local Michigan high schools. Recently, Lushh performed at the Audiotree Music Festival in Kalamazoo, MI. In March 2019, Lushh will be collaborating with a visual projection designer to debut the Archangel Suite . The band has finished recording their debut album and is currently working on mixing and mastering it. The album, ready to cultivate a regional and national audience, is slated for release in April 2019.
