Jazz vocalist and bandleader, Lady T/Toscanellie Marcelain features the songs of the hottest years of vocal jazz. Known to her international listeners as the “American Lady with a lot of jazz to give,” T. has been a representative for America’s jazz at international and cultural jazz events in Europe, East Africa, West Africa and the former Soviet Union. Dedicated to the preservation and perpetuation of America’s jazz, she is an active mentor, clinician and resource for the jazz community, emphasizing opportunities for young and new jazz listeners, vocalists and musicians. Every April she is an associate for the observance of “Jazz Appreciation Month” on behalf of the Smithsonian Institution and “International Jazz Day” organized by UNESCO. “Lady T.” is a terrific performer with a super personality! She possesses a distinctly intimate and memorable vocal style, superb musicianship, and a super personality. “Lady T.” is someone every jazz lover should know!

Toscanellie is a very active mentor, clinician and resource for the jazz community. Being an associate for the observance of “Jazz  Appreciation Month” every April on behalf of the Smithsonian Institution, she organizes, presents and reports jazz events throughout the year, submitting jazz information and materials for U.S. archiving of this important occasion. Since 2012 she has been able to get Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel to issue a Proclamation declaring April “Jazz Appreciation Month in Chicago” that also honors the jazz culture in Chicago.

Guitarist Jim Pierce has been a part of the Chicago area jazz scene for many years, including as guitarist for former Prestige recording artist, pianist John Wright. Jim is the guitarist for Yoko Noge and her ‘Jazz Me Blues Band.’ He has performed more than once in the Chicago Jazz Festival, the Hyde Park Jazz Festival, as well as other local jazz events. Jim teaches guitar to new and seasoned players. He is the Music Director for Lady T’s performances.

Dennis Luxion is a jazz pianist, composer and educator. He is currently on the piano faculty of Columbia College Chicago and an active member of the Chicago jazz scene. He was introduced to Chet Baker by Belgian saxophone legend Jacques Pelzer. This led to a lengthy musical association - between 1979 and 1983, Luxion made a number of recordings, television and radio appearances, and tours throughout Europe with Baker. Dennis performs with his own trio and quintet, at the Chicago Green Mill with the ‘Green Mill Quartet,” at the Norman’s Bistro weekly jam session in Hyde Park and regularly at Chicago’s Le Piano. Among many other prominent jazz events, Dennis has performed many times in the Chicago Jazz Festival and the Hyde Park Jazz Festival.

Bassist Dan Delorenzo has been an important part of the Chicago jazz scene since 1978. With the Jazz Members Big Band (now the Chicago Jazz Orchestra), he accompanied Dizzy Gillespie, Joe Williams and Clark Terry. Delorenzo’s sideman discography includes Ira Sullivan, Bob Dogan, Franz Jackson, Paulinio Garcia and Sheila Jordan. Dan has a performance history in the Chicago Jazz Festival, the Hyde Park Jazz Festival and the Elkhart Jazz Festival. He is active in the ‘Chicago Jazz Composers Collective.”

Todd Howell has been a professional drummer and educator in Chicago for over 15 years. He received his Bachelor's in music from Northern Illinois University. Since then he has performed with many of the city's top jazz artists such as Ryan Cohan, Ron Perrillo, Bobby Broom, The Chicago Jazz Orchestra, vocalist Kimberly Gordon and with internationally know jazz luminaries such as Bob Mintzer and Brian Lynch. He has also recorded with artists such as Fareed Haque, Juli Wood, Jeff Morrison and guitarist Kyle Asche's acclaimed debut recording 'The Hook Up' on Origin Records. He currently teaches at Chicago area schools including Lemont High School, St. Francis College Prep in Wheaton, and Elmhurst College.

This quintet has performed with Lady T for more than ten years!
