A trio of Don Lerman on saxophone, Mike Iannicello on guitar, and Buddy Pearson on bass, will perform a varied program of jazz and popular standards, including music composed by Charlie Parker, Victor Young, and Antonio Carlos Jobim.

Don Lerman, a native of South Bend who graduated from Riley High School, spent many years performing on sax and clarinet in big bands around the Washington, D.C., area, most notably with the Harry James Orchestra that continued after the legendary big band trumpeter’s death in 1983. His influences include Art Pepper, Lucky Thompson, Sonny Rollins, Stan Getz, Charlie Parker and Gerry Mulligan.

Hailing from a very musically supportive family, he was given his first upright bass at age 9 and in one way or another, has never looked back. Soon after schooling, immersing in the local and Chicago jazz scene with heavy hitter players to this day. Buddy also plays bass for the longtime jazz group, Freek Johnson, In addition to playing with others national and local. Buddy also puts his bass and prodigious technique in a solo setting at weekly performances throughout venues.

Along with playing, Buddy has been teaching all levels of electric and upright bass privately for the last 20 years. Currently teaching privately in his studio in downtown South Bend, and also at South Bend's The Music Village.
