This special night will feature Bijan Taghavi on piano alongside Carlo De Rosa on bass and Keith Hall on drums; their program blends Taghavi’s “lithe” compositions which “bring the trio’s [Bill] Evans-like side to the fore” (Textura), and fresh interpretations of well-chosen jazz standards, as explored on his upcoming release Cactus Sessions.
