Don Lerman on saxophone is joined by Ben Davis on piano, Dave Richards on bass, and Charlie Edwards on drums in paying tribute to the music of Lee Konitz. The quartet will perform several songs Konitz recorded at different stages of his career, including an original composition from one of his later recordings. 

Lee Konitz was an alto saxophonist who jazz writer David Adler called “an exemplar of modern jazz improvisation.”  Born in Chicago in 1927, Konitz was one of the last jazz musicians of his era still in active circulation when he died in New York in 2020. He performed with a wide range of jazz musicians including Lennie Tristano, Claude Thornhill, Stan Kenton, Miles Davis, Warne Marsh, Jimmy Giuffre, Gerry Mulligan, Dave Brubeck, Bill Evans, Jim Hall, Attila Zoller, Paul Motian, Ornette Coleman, Charles Mingus, Michel Petrucciani, Bill Frisell,…
