Our Home Grown Jazz Performance Series presents the Buddy Pearson Trio ! The trio will be playing everything from old standards to new originals in Jazz.

Buddy Pearson has been steadily playing upright and electric bass for 40 of his 50 years. Hailing from a very musically supportive family, he was given his first upright bass at age 9 and in one way or another, has never looked back. Soon after schooling, immersing in the local and Chicago jazz scene with heavy hitter players to this day. Buddy also plays bass for the longtime jazz group, Freek Johnson. In addition to playing with others nationallly and locally, Buddy also puts his bass and prodigious technique in a solo setting at weekly performances throughout venues.

 Along with playing, Buddy has been teaching all levels of electric and upright bass privately for the last 20 years. Currently teaching privately in his studio in downtown South Bend, and also at South Bend's The Music Village.

Artis Timberlake Brown has basically played piano his entire life, starting in church at age 10, and then schooling at Valparaiso University with piano legend Billy Foster for many years. Since then, Artis has played with a very diverse group of great music artists as Kim Burrell, David Williams, Joe Marcinek and Marvin Sapp, utilizing his dazzling keyboard work on piano and organ.

Mike Shell was brought up with music and drums in his blood, starting at age 6 with his father also being a well respected drummer. He’s had music his entire life and to this day. Mike has played with some of the legends in music: Tye Tribbett, Ricky Dillard, and Gary Indiana’s own Fabulous Kings.
